When we say about the first verison of IntelliJ IDEA it was first released in January 2001. And it was first Java IDE which has advanced code navigation and code refactoring capabilities. And in year 2012 it was voted as best programming tool available for Java in market.
In year 2014, Google released an open source IDE for Android which is also based mainly on IntelliJ IDEA.
