What is IMEI number and how to validate that?
IMEI(International Mobile Equipment Identity) is a unique number for mobile or for satelite phones. Mostly it is printed on back of your phone battery. We can also display this on mobile screen and to disaply this we need to dial *#06# on dialpad. And this IMEI number is basically used by GSM network to identify that device is valid or not. We can also check stolen from this IMEI number.
This IMEI number is 15 digit long out of which 14 digit plus check digit. We can also use this to get information of origin, Model and serial number of the device.
How to validate IMEI number:-
(1)Let suppose IMEI number is "863999056711723" first from right most digit we will double every second number and doubling of digit will be greater then 9 then we will add digit number. for example (9*2=18) so answer is 1+8=9 and 6*2=12 and sum is 1+2=3.
(2)In above number start from right every second digit answer is
=3 +(2+2)+7+(1+1)+1+(7+7)+6+(5+5)+0+(9+9) +9 +(9+9)+3+(6+6)+8
=3+(4)+7+(2)+1+(14)+6+(10)+0+(18)+9+(18)+3+(12)+8
=3+4+7+2+1+(1+4)+6+(1+0)+0+(1+8)+9+(1+8)+3+(1+2)+8
=3+4+7+2+1+5+6+1+0+9+9+9+3+3+8
=70
(3)Now divide sum from 10 if is divisible then it is valid IEMI number. | |
