Can we use this keyword with static method?
Question Posted on 26 Apr 2020Home >> DotNet >> C# >> Can we use this keyword with static method?

Can we use this keyword with static method?
Answer is No we cannot use this with this keyword with static method. Because we use this keyword to return the reference of the current instance of class. And static methods did not belong to a particular instance. They still exist without creating instance of class they only called with the name of class not by instance. So we cannot use this keyword with static method.
this keyword is a special type of reference variable that is implicitly defined within each constructor, non-static method as a first parameter of the type class in which it is defined in c#.
